The Tale of Princess Kaguya
The Tale of Princess Kaguya aka The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter is an ancient
Japanese folk-tale. I decided to take on this story to create an english re-telling and
fully illustrated edition of the book. Below show some of the illustrations within
the book itself, mostly without the text accompanying them.
All illustrations were done traditionally with pencil and then scanned in and coloured
digitally, with the addition of paper textures and other things to achieve the final look.
The physical print of the book was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign
which you can find here. If you are interested in buying a copy then feel free to email or send a message.

The Book
Below shows the hand-made special edition of the book featuring a fabric
cover with foil title in Japanese bound together with a type of coptic stitching.
The version of the book below this is the hardback copy that everyone who backed my
Kickstarter project received. This features a soft-touch lamination book jacket.
